Port perimeter security
Ports represent a significant security concern, as they can be exploited to smuggle arms, explosives and weapons of mass destruction, or to transport terrorists, thereby posing a severe risk to national sovereignty. Because physical port security necessitates mitigating risks at the perimeter, implementing robust security systems is crucial.
Furthermore, due to these heightened risks, international regulations mandate strict security measures. These include specific policies and procedures, alongside electronic security technology, such as traditional or thermal CCTV, access control, and perimeter intrusion detection systems (PIDS).
