Correctional facility perimeter security
Prisons rely on multiple security systems to prevent the escape of prisoners, the penetration of intruders and the smuggling of contraband into the premises. Considering the risks associated with these very real scenarios, it is safe to claim that a correctional facility is only as secure as its perimeter.
Hence, efficient safeguarding of a prison’s perimeter is of extreme importance. In these premises, several physical barriers are employed at the perimeter, as well as multiple layers of intrusion detection systems, which operate in parallel and, by requirement, use different technologies from one another.
